1: Acer’s world’s thinnest laptop “Acer Swift 7”

With the second-generation Swift 7, Acer has retaken the crown for having the thinnest laptop in the world.The Swift 7 (SF714-51T), being the world’s thinnest laptop, is 8.98mm thin, which is way more than the company’s 2016 model of Swift 7 (10.4mm). The display includes Acer Color Intelligence tech and Corning Gorilla Glass protection along with some security features including Windows Hello fingerprint scanner.

Acer claims the laptop’s battery can run for up to 10 hours at a single stretch. It also costs $1,699 (Rs 107,500 approximately), a price that gets you always on 4G LTE connectivity, a 14-inch Full HD touchscreen display, a 7th generation Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and 256GB of PCIe SSD storage. It is expected to start shipping in March 2018.

2: LG’s 65-inch rollable OLED TV

LG Display launched a 65-inch UHD rollable OLED TV that can roll up and hide itself away. The rollable TV has a 4K display and can roll up like a poster into a base box that makes it easier to transport the TV from one place to another. The screen stretches to 65 inches when fully unfurled but it can also be partially unrolled to form a smaller display.

These smaller displays can be used to view things like the calendar or the weather. It can even act as a music player.The aspect ratio can shift from 16:9 to 21:9, for optimal movie watching, or it can reduce down to an information display style.

3: Sandisk squeezes 1TB storage into a prototype thumb drive

SanDisk is a company well known for its storage devices, and at CES 2018 it showed that it was aiming to push the envelope further by presenting a USB thumb stick with 1TB of storage – the largest capacity yet for such a small drive.

It also includes a USB-C connection, which will mean incredibly fast data transfer rates when you plug it into a compatible port on your laptop or PC, and it may even be compatible with smartphones. It’s just a prototype at the moment, but we’re keen to see the final product come out.

4: Samsung’s The Wall, a massive 146-inch modular microLED TV

According to Samsung, TVs shouldn’t have to be just one size. That’s the idea behind its new 146-inch TV called The Wall, which the company is positioning as the first “modular TV.”

Samsung says users can alter the size and shape of The Wall so that it can function as a multipurpose display. In a demo on the showroom floor, the TV displayed what looked like a smaller TV in the center of the screen, while the surrounding area was set to blend in with the wall the TV was mounted on. And since the TV uses MicroLED technology, it should be able to produce even deeper black tones and potentially infinite contrast.

 5: Vivo’s world’s first smartphone with an in-display fingerprint scanner

Vivo has showcased the first smartphone featuring an in-display fingerprint scanner at CES 2018. The in-display fingerprint scanner for the device is being manufacturing by Synaptics and Vivo says that the mobile phone will allow users to unlock it, by simply touching or tapping the display.

The smartphone is said to be ready for mass production and will solve the “industry’s challenge of providing a better and more convenient fingerprint authentication experience in future smartphones.”  Vivo has not released any details or specifications of the smartphone, however, the company announced that it will be launching it in early 2018.
