How Some Third Party Softwares Trick High-end Games To Run On Low-end PC’s?

Are you having difficulties running the games you want to play, but you can’t afford to upgrade your computer? By making a few tweaks to the game’s settings you can lower the quality of the graphics to increase the performance, allowing you to play the game without issue. Most PC games nowadays require a dedicated graphics card (i.e. not integrated); otherwise, the game will look like garbage or simply not run at all. In this post, we will cover the questions that: Can we run heavy games or high-end games without a graphics card? Even if it is possible to run those games on low-end PC’s then how to do that? Or if we can’t do that then what is the reason behind it?

Fortunately, there is hope on the horizon. Let me introduce some awe-inducing softwares known as swift shader and 3D-Analyzer. Many people say about these softwares that these applications can run high-end games on low-end PCs. So whats the reason behind it? Are the software makers so unique or talented that they can run heavy games on low-end CPUs only with the help of a software? The game developer companies, in reality, want you to play heavy games on your PC’s whether it is low-end or high-end but they don’t want to defame themselves. They know that heavy games will lag in low-end PC’s so it can cause problems like decrease in the reputation of games. Some people even don’t know that such type of graphics card is needed to run such type of games so that’s the reason.

Actually, some high-end games are made in such a way that when it detects a low-end system it already shows a message that the game will not run on your pc. It is because the developer company which develops the game do not want to decrease their reputation because some people will try to run their games on their low-end PC’s and when it will not run they will go around and spread hate about those games causing problems to other peoples. Which will lead to the decrease of fame and reputation of the developer company.  Then comes the role of these softwares. These softwares will work like a middleman or act like a connector between the game and the CPUs of PCs. They trick the games and CPU’s to think that there is already a graphics card in your low-end PC which in reality you don’t have a graphics card. They will take power from your main CPU’s which can cause some lags. So, there is no problem those games but actually, you are low in resources.

SwiftShader provides 3D rendering capabilities to your computer, without requiring a 3D graphics card. Swift Shader is a tool / Software for those PC’s which are low on Graphics Card i.e. they do not have a dedicated graphics card or their graphics card memory is very small. All the calculations are performed on the central processor instead. Thus it helps you to play certain games on your Computer which would not run otherwise or whose minimum requirements are just above you PC Configurations.

Below is what the developer says about the software.

For 3D rendering in situations where a dedicated separate GPU is unavailable or unsuitable, SwiftShader has no equal in performance.

It’s a program that fakes the computer into thinking you have a 3D video card. So you can run 3D games, though very slowly. It makes your computer think that you have direct x 8/9 features a good example is in games. There are many games that require direct x 8-9 but you don’t have that on your pc. Download swiftshader and put the files in the root folder of your game and it should work fine now. Although it may be a bit slow on your computer since you really don’t have the actual DirectX.

A 3d analyzer is a PC Software which enables us to play high-end games on low-end PC. In simple terms, 3D-Analyzer is a tool that can emulate certain graphics options that would typically require a dedicated graphics card; graphics that many integrated chips and older graphics cards are not capable of. Now what is actually 3d Analyzer and what does it do. 3d Analyzer does transform and lightning hardware emulation and helps in running TnL games on PC’s which do not have dedicated graphics card. It can emulate most of the features of 3d games such as pixel shaders, bump maps, SW TnL etc.

The following is a description of 3D Analyzer, as per the developer:

The 3D Analyzer Tool was created and refined to overcome limitations posed by modern 3D Games and other Applications on several current mainstream 3D Cards. With the help of 3DA you can change different graphic options under DirectX 8 and OpenGL. 3DA changes different CAP-bits for example, if a game requires HW T&L 3DA emulates these bits and the games runs on graphic boards which don’t have HW T&L capabilities. 3DA doesn’t emulate any features in software(except cube mapping, which is done with a simple 2D texture), like Pixel or Vertex Shader. 3DA is also a very nice tool for benchmarking. It generates detailed log files (CSV) with FPS and other parameters.

You might be able to run heavy high-end games, but the performance will likely not be optimal. The map will struggle to load because of the lack of RAM, and the graphics processing unit you probably have is likely going to render frames at a very slow rate. And why not it will lag? To tackle these problems graphics cards were invented so that when the graphics processing will happen all burden should not fall on the core processor only and the extra graphics card could handle the gaming or editing problems easily. Your main CPU or processor is already running the important background software, applications or services so it’s not possible for a low-end CPU to handle those tasks included with gaming.

Now comes the question in which PC’s they can run without a graphics card? The answer is that yes they can run on PC’s without graphics card but the RAM or processor should contain more storage and should be more powerful respectively(like for eg:- i7 core processor and 16gb RAM). Then only they can run some high-end games but not all games that also in low or medium settings. Then also it can cause some lags. So these are the reasons covering the whole topic.
